Idea Duck is an award-winning product design company. We design creative low-tech products for children and families. Idea Duck has designed and licensed games, toys, and crafts. We've also consulted on game design and toy merchandising.

Susan McKinley Ross started Idea Duck in 2002. Prior to founding Idea Duck, Susan worked in merchandising and product development at the HearthSong toy catalog for five years. Susan’s husband Christopher Ross joined Idea Duck full time in 2008. He previously worked in the video game industry for 14 years, mostly as a game designer.

Our most popular product is the board game Qwirkle. Qwirkle has sold 2 million copies around the world! It has also been honored with a Mensa Select Award, a Parents' Choice Gold Award, a Games Magazine Games 100 Award and a Spiel des Jahres Award among others.
