Idea Duck is an award-winning design firm founded by Susan McKinley Ross in 2002. Susan worked in both merchandising and product development at the HearthSong catalog for five years prior to founding Idea Duck. Since starting Idea Duck, Susan has focused on designing creative low-tech products for the children's and gift markets.

Susan designed a game called Qwirkle that was published by MindWare in 2006. Qwirkle has won a Parents' Choice Gold Award as well as awards from Mensa Select and Major Fun. Please check out the Qwirkle page to find out more about this game.

Idea Duck has licensed toys, crafts and games. We've also consulted on game design, craft design and toy merchandising. Idea Duck's very first product, a Snowman Decorating Set, was recognized and approved by the Parents' Choice Foundation. Previously, while working at HearthSong, Susan won a Parents' Choice recommendation for her Create A Fountain Kit.
